Beautiful hotel, with friendly, helpful staff. I stayed here once before 5 years ago, and the interior is just as beautiful as I remember. I got a Lakeview king and the room was perfect with amenities, and even a mini fridge. Loved the shower head (wish I had the same at home) and plenty of hot water. The room was quiet and clean, perfect view of Buckingham fountain, the planetarium and Navy Pier.

My wife and I loved our stay at this historical hotel. The staff was very accommodating. The rooms were clean and beautiful. My wife and I both agreed that we will definitely stay here again. When we come to visit chicago again.

I stayed at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center while attending a weekend conference, and it was a convenient choice for my trip. The check-in process was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised by the character of the building and its historic charm. My room was clean and comfortable, and I especially enjoyed the views of the city and nearby park from the window. The location made it easy to walk to several attractions and restaurants without needing transportation. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and a great base for exploring Chicago between conference sessions.

I have stayed at this property year after year when attending Lollapalooza. Every year I book, I always have the same feeling….I’m going home for this block of days. I circle back to why we originally booked this hotel, not because of the rate, not because of the location, not because of points accumulation, not because of the amenities(yes, all of them play a big part of booking, but it is not my main reason). I book there because of the staff and safety/security we have at this property. I look forward to seeing the staff at this property year after year, like they are family members I am coming home for the weekend to see. There has never been one time, in all of the chaos of this huge music festival, that I felt unsafe or that security was not top notch. From door security, to room checks, to even security standing at elevators to ensure overcrowding doesn’t occur. It speaks volumes of the security and staff you have at this establishments, when you can watch over 100,000 people filter out of a music festival directly across the street and never feel as though you need to be anxious. The restaurant and bar staff year after year, greet you with a smile, remember your name, hold great conversations and appreciate you coming in. During the festival it is a limited menu, due to being so busy. You can sit outside on the patio and enjoy your meal, people watch, have great service and a very price point conscious menu to pick from. The chef will come out and talk to patrons, ask how their meal is, if he can get them anything else…all with a friendly smile and attitude. The hostess, she is like the fun auntie who welcomes you in. Housekeeping is quick and consistent, it is never an issue to ask for anything. Engineering comes as soon as any problem is reported. The front desk are efficient and reliable with your booking information at check in and check out. The doormen always have a pleasant attitude no matter how much you are dragging in for your stay and are always

This is my third stay at the Congress within 10 years if that tells you anything. I booked this hotel for a bachelorette party, but in full transparency continued to check reviews because they were so hit and miss that I was worried I should book somewhere else - and I am so glad I didn’t. I knew that we would be getting to the hotel before check-in time so I initially planed to have them hold our bags (which they will do for free), but due to the rain and one of the girls in our party getting sick, I had asked if we could do early check-in. Not only was check-in extremely smooth and quick, but the lady who helped us put us in a room that in my opinion was better than what I had booked (initially booked two doubles and she gave us three!). The mosaics in lobby are gorgeous, and there is charm throughout the hotel to admire its history. The common areas I saw were always clean, and I never saw anybody loitering outside or giving the impression that it might be unsafe. Additionally, our room was very clean, very spacious, and very up-to-date. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the tall windows gave it such a great ambience so you never felt cramped. Almost every review you see will praise its location, and I cannot agree more. Whether you are going to a CTA station for the blue line to and from the airport, the red line for a Cubs game, going to see the Bean, heading to Navy Pier, or making a stop at soldier Field for a concert - you are well within walking distance. There are also numerous, yummy restaurants within 15 minutes, and a CVS just down the block for any person care items.

I can't say enough good things about my friend and I's stay at the Congress Plaza. It's been over a month since my visit and I am still dreaming about this beautiful, historic hotel! I had initially only booked one night here, but after seeing how spacious and luxurious the room was, I immediately went down to the front desk and booked a 2nd night. Upon returning up to my room, we realized our TV wasn't working. We called down to the front desk and within 15 minutes they had maintenance in our room trying to fix the issue. When they couldn't, Nicole at the front desk moved us to an even larger and more luxurious room for our troubles, and it had a stunning view of the backside of their historic sign, the pier, and Lake Michigan. The bathroom with its rainfall showerhead was amazing, and the beds were comfortable and clean. My only minor gripe is that I do wish it was easier to adjust the AC in the room, but that's simply because I want to sleep in a freezer, LOL. For the average person it is probably fine! As far as location goes, it's within perfect walking distance to Cloud Gate (The Bean), The Art Institute, parks, and tons of restaurants. It made my first visit to Chicago truly special and memorable and I will stay here without a doubt every time I return. Thank you, Congress Plaza Hotel!

Absolutely stunning view from our windows on the 14th floor of the South Tower. View of the lake and all of the parks. The hotel itself is a mix of old, turn of the century charm and newly updated rooms. I believe remodeling is happening in most of the rooms now or soon but our room and floor was great. Will be back and will ask for the 14th floor again. Thanks Chicago and Congress Hotel and Staff!!

I stayed at The Congress Plaza Hotel & Convention Center while attending a conference in downtown Chicago, and the location could not have been more convenient. Being able to walk to nearby attractions, restaurants, and the event venue saved me a lot of time during my trip. My room was clean and comfortable, and I especially enjoyed the views of the city and the park from the window. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were helpful whenever I had questions about the area. For a historic hotel in such a central location, I felt it offered a great overall experience and would consider staying here again.
